When you are working on a foreign computer you should save your work on your own device, usb key or usb HD. As LO and many other software uses by default the standard filepicker from the OS, I suggest you to file a bug against your Linux distribution, if it does not show a warning when starting a guest session that all saved files will be removed when the session will be closed.
