Bug ID: 93089
Summary: Reorder/improve graphic styles in Impress/Draw
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.0.0.4 rc
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description of problem:
It is very confusing to use the graphic styles in Impress. When compared with
those used in Writer, understand the logic operating in Impress is very
different.
In Writer, styles names are clear and descriptive are unique or very delimited
to an text object, while in Impress, most graphics are marked with the default
style (eg text box, shape, connector, etc. ) or very different elements share
the same style (eg, an image and a chart).
Improvement proposal:
Use descriptive names of the different elements that you can use in Impress to
create styles. This would greatly improve the recognition of style options to
the user, so it is easier to recognize that there is a way to "shape" and does
not affect a text box or vice versa (currently selecting a text box and edit
this style to add a border, does not affect the text box, but affect the new
shapes inserted in the presentation).
Example:
Graphic style (or object drawing styles)
+ Lines and arrows
+ Curves
+ Connectors
+ Forms
+ Image
+ Table (can include table formats)
- header
- content
+ Chart (color series and general elements)
+ 3D Objects
+ Text Box
- Header
- Title
- Subtitle
- Body text
+ Etc.
Thanks
