Bug ID: 93492
Summary: Problems using labelprinter
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Draw
Assignee: [email protected]

Dear all,
I have continuous problems printing on labels. The problem started somewhere in
4.x, but still exists in 5.0.0.5. It happens under Windows XP and under Windows
7. The labelprinter is Godex G530 (connected via LAN). XP uses a Godex driver,
Win7 uses on-board driver. The problem already happened with a CAB A4+
labelprinter, but this is not in use anymore. Other windows applications do
print well. In the Godex printer dialog there is a label of 70 mm x 45 mm
defined.
Start draw and open a new sheet. Set page size to 7 cm width and 4,5 cm heigth
(unprintable area remains 1 cm). Put a text "test" into the middle of the page.
Now select "File" "Print". Select the Godex printer. The preview looks good
(there were problems with the preview in 4.x). Now hit "OK". The printer will
make a short feed and beeps. No printout.
When I now change the size of the label in the printer dialogue (heigth 46 mm),
then I have no preview (it shows 1 mm x 1 mm), but the printout is correct.
When I change the heighth to 45,5 mm, then I have a preview and can also print.
I expect there is some kind of rounding inaccuracy, maybe the printer driver
itself is the problem. But I am wondering why other windows applications (also
Open Office) do print well.
It would be great if somebody could take a look at it because as two different
printers have the same problem, it seems that this is a general problem and
also it is a disadvantage comparing with Open office that prints well.
Thank you!
Klaus
