There is the rub--we can configure and mange things native to LibreOffice with great flexibility, and achieve pretty consistent behavior cross platform. But, once we start integrating with the host OS it get much more cumbersome. Would think that customizing the OS provided File Open/Save dialogs would be in that category of cumbersome.
