To reproduce:

1) open a drawing
2) assure that the properties side panel is open
3) select a line (draw it beforehand as needed)
4) click on the little down arrow on the side of the line width properties in
the properties sidebar, to open the line width selection dropdown menu
5) close the dropdown (e.g. by pressing esc)
6) redo from 4)

See libreoffice freezing while a log is created. 

Get something like the following on screen
