Bug ID: 93629
Summary: In writer, tables columns cannot be resized by
dragging borders anymore
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.0.1.1 rc
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Create a new writer document, insert a table of any size but with at least 2
columns.
Now place your mouse pointer arrow on any vertical border of the table: the
pointer changes, showing a couple of horizontal arrows in opposing direction,
suggesting you can now drag the border and change the columns width.
However this is now completely IMPOSSIBLE: as soon as you click the mouse to
start dragging, the pointer goes back to normal and the border is not affected
at all.
I have tried dozens of times at all zoom levels, border sizes, etc. to no
avail.
Until LO4.4, change of columns width by dragging vertical borders was working
well and was quick and easy to perform.
Without this functionality, Writer tables are almost unusable, since changing
their columns width numerically via the dialog window is not really feasible in
practice, and having only tables with equally spaced columns is just as
unpractical.
For those often using tables in Writer docs (me amongst them), I am afraid this
could be reason enough to downgrade until it is fixed.
Thanks for the attention
