Almost certainly this is a deliberate, Java produced SEGV and its different from the one you want to catch, it should be handled silently. We should really improve our 'gdbtrace' series of commands to catch and print in a nice loop there; however ... quickly prototyping that here with a while (1) etc. etc. doesn't work at all well for me.
