I think this is an example showing that Word in not Writer.. People using Writer will be used to the fact that e.g. shift+Arrow (at the start of a line) will select the paragraph, and that shift+end selects text on the line... The few times I work in Word, I always have to be careful not to copy full paragraphs.. So I hope you don't mind that I set this as NotABug.. Could you (or someone else) come with a comprehensive and extensive case that it really should be different, then please report and feel free to reopen.
