Bug ID: 94179
Summary: Libreoffice Calc: EDITING: 100% CPU usage /
memory-thrashing hang after selecting a column
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Created attachment 118661

spreadsheet upon which the problem was observed
If I simply select a column by clicking the mouse on the column-header, in a
very small spreadsheet, and then attempt to perform any kind of operation, e.g.
entering a formula, libre-office calc will use 100% of CPU and a large portion
of RAM (2+ GB).
The "cell range" display in the upper-left corner of the window (right below
the toolbar) will show something like B1:E1073741824, and my guess is that it's
actually trying to do something for each of those (non-existant) rows...
Any subsequent to interact with the window fails, and the only way I've found
to stop it is to kill the process.
Version of Calc is 5.0.1.
I've attached the actual spreadsheet if that's useful.
