Bug ID: 94270
Summary: Ignore protection for merged labels
Product: LibreOffice
Version: Inherited From OOo
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: UI

Hi,
This enhancement request comes from the discussion on #84548.
When working on a label document using the "Synchronize" option, you can only
modify the first label by default (regardless if it is before or after the
merge) because others are "protected".
Unfortunately this is often very annoying, because there are almost always a
few labels that you have to modify manually.
I recently learned (thanks Cor Nouws !) that it is possible to disable this
protection in Tools > Options > Writer > Formatting aids > Ignore protection.
I suggest that :
- protection should be disabled by default when working on labels, because I
don't think this is an usually wanted feature (Cor Nouws thinks in
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84548#c14 that it should be
more specific to merged labels).
- this protection (regardless it is finally enabled or not) should be briefly
documented in the same place than the label documentation (maybe here
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/Writer/011)
Regards,
Yvan
