Sometimes the copy appears directly on top of the original. Sometimes the copy
appears at some distance, down and to the right. Sometimes the copy appears at
such a distance, I have to scroll around to find it and drag it back.
I don't have any tips to reproduce this except to repeatedly copy and paste
objects.
I have set a keyboard shortcut [command-d] to duplicate because it is more
predictable than copy/paste, but it requires an extra dialogue box.
