Good evening to all.
It is not really abug, so this post may have to be shifted elsewhere. It is an
evolution ou UIs that I regret. It began apparently wit MS office 2003 but is
spreding everywhere. Fashion?

It applies to all "Libre Office" programs.

I do not like this menu as a graphical banner at the page top. Even with
astandard 50 lines screens it squats on about 24% of the height as compared
with 2 lines of classical roll down menus. As I like to format my pages (text,
html, calc or whatever) as iot helps thinking, I find it quite annoying.

I was "born" to computing with MS DOD 1.1 and is used to work with the keyboard
as well as mice. With my son, a software engineer, and mouse addict, we
sometimes race with our own tools and he is not always the winner.

Up to last month I would work with MS Office 2000 buit am switching to Libre
Office as Windows 10 does not accept old things.

What I propose is that we should have a choise: New or old menus. It is very
easy to learn a string of letters (Alt+i,l,a). It should not be that heavy: no
pictures and the same hypertext commands. Probably "just" a question of
layouts.

Any reaction?
Good night
