One option of the out of the box designs in Excel
PT per se are extremely powerful but without proper design options their basic
objective is very limited: Show/present data in a clear and easy way in order
to quickly draw conclusions and make it visually appealing.
Excel has solved this in the Design Ribbon with a series of colour combinations
with which the user can play around, changing the colours on the fly. In Calc I
haven't seen anything like this.
I know I can format the colour of individual cells but the point here is to
create a consistent colour/format combination .
I think there is a lot of potential to actually beat Excel in two ways:
1. Apart from the predefined designs in Excel you can theoretically create your
own design template but for me it hasn't worked at all, so if Calc get's this
right we would take the lead
2. Implementing a way that users can actually create a design/colour template,
export and share it would improve Calc exponentially. When it comes to design
and looks the power of the community is unbeatable
