At the moment it is only possible to display "Reference Text" or "Category and
Number" or "Caption". See: https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Index_2#Display
For scientific theses its quit common to only have the illustration number
followed by the caption text and the page number without the category in front
of the illustration number. The attachment shows the intended behaviour.
It would be a great enhancement to be able to not show the category. I have
seen quite a few people having the same problem.
There are work-arounds like user defined indexes and so on but they are work
intensive and unintentional.
