pb <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #4 from pb <[email protected]> --- Is there any sense on how often users want to paste FORMATTED text into Calc from the clipboard? My sense is that the answer is essentially never. This problem has been there for many years, and also in openoffice. It would make sense for Calc, that pasting unformatted text from the clipboard should be the default, and if not, then a preference item should exist for the user to make it the default, without the need to navigate the customization labyrinth. Meanwhile, here and in numerous other places around the web it has been suggested to simply record a macro to do this. In that case: 1. Do macros actually work in the portable version? 2. The macro recording process is not trivial -- it would help if someone created a macro and told people exactly how to load it. Also, in the past, when I attempted to use a macro to do this, there were unexpected results when a range of cells needed to be pasted. In the default UI, this appears to require more steps than just selecting paste special > unformatted text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
