In fact we don't have a real filter for such files, only XSLT-based thing. And XSLT is slow, so it will take several minutes to open the file. Try it yourself in the terminal: $ xsltproc --output output.fods /usr/lib64/libreoffice/share/xslt/import/spreadsheetml/spreadsheetml2ooo.xsl full-lenght.xls (In reply to Claudio from comment #0) > After that, a "Critical I/O error" draws on the screen.
