When somebody who doesn't really know how to use Impress in any advanced way
(like me) tries the "Styles and Formatting" tab of the Impress sidebar, one
sees a list "Title", "Subtitle", "Background objects" etc. But there is no
indication what selecting a element in the list does. Nothing happens. So the
next reaction is then to double-click, but that does not do anything visible
either, except change the background colour of the item to light blue and not
blue (on Windows).
