One often lurks or posts on Deviant Art site, as an amateur designer and for
art interest and one of the things that one sees are the abundance of icons and
iconography that people offer for free.
What one would like to suggest is to open up the tool bar icons for a redesign
contest and get Deviant Art on board, (they often have competitions from
organisations), you are not offering cash gifts but you are offering aspiring
designers a chance to get their work seen by thousands and it helps to create
community ties, with many artists not earning enough to afford expensive
software but who may have not heard of Libre Office.
Such community ties also could see interest from media and other such
organisations as soft news that fills space and helps promote the industry.
