The problem is almost the same in Linux (Mint 17.2) with LibreOffice Version:
4.4.3.2 Build ID: 40m0(Build:2).
When I open the document and just delete one character - and then do a save,
the LO take a long time before the saving is done - and then exits the
application by itself. When I try to open the saved document I get the message:
The file 'xxx.odt' is corrupt and therefore cannot be opened. LibreOffice can
try to repair the file.
So - after a repair - the LO opens with an empty page.
The document had a size of 4267646 bytes before editing and after save/freeze
it was 4270318 (but opens as a blank page after repair).
