Thanks for testing. 4.2 is end of life in the LibreOffice project (as is 4.3). 4.2 for Ubuntu 14.04 will mostly receive security fixes. Besides those, you would have to do 99% of the work yourself: reverse bisecting to find out the commit that fixed the crash, preparing a patch for it, submitting it to Ubuntu while hoping for the best.
