--- Comment #8 from steve -_- <[email protected]> --- @j: it not only hides the file extension in that dialog. the dialog is likely the place it matters the least, if the extension is displayed or not. the option is about the way the file manager displays the saved file (with or without the extension). as shown in the screencast, word even defaults to "on" (or it remembers the setting from last usage) for that option. So should this still not be clear: if you navigate to the target folder which holds the saved file, the list of files will then display that file without the file extension, if the option was enabled. you can change and adjust this option in the file browser at any point in time. but giving the user an option to do this to their liking right away on saving the file, is the norm on os x. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
