I haven't tested in more recent versions of LibreOffice yet, but in 4.3.7.2
there is a rather annoying bug in the conditional formatting. Steps to
reproduce are as follows.
1. Fill some cells in column A randomly with the text "Yes" or "No" (without
the quotes) so that both occur at least once in the column. Copy column A to
column B.
2. Apply conditional formatting to column A with the rule "Cell value is equal
to" and input "No" (without the quotes). Then apply a style which makes the
background of the detected cells red.
3. Observe that the cells in column A containing the word "No" are unaffected.
4. Do the same for column B, but input "no" (*with* the quotes!) as the
condition. Just inputting without quotes will change the input to 'No' (adding
apostropes and making the "n" uppercase) after saving.
5. Observe that the cells in column B are correctly formatted with the red
background.
So inputting lowercase with quotes works and inputting with just the uppercase
N and lowercase o doesn't. I took me a long time to figure this out, but it's
obvious that this is very confusing and shouldn't work like this. I've attached
a sample document as well as PDF output of that document made by LibreOffice.
