I tried to save a doc/docx with a page number offset of -1 in the header. This
would allow you to use a cover page, and then begin Page 1 on the 2nd page. The
offset was not saved, and the header reverts to offset 0 when the document is
opened. This does not happen when saving to odt format.
Possibly related with the loss of custom field when saving in doc/docx:
