Bug ID: 96301 Summary: Failed document recovery and intermittent crashes. Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.8.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jan.skarv...@nejko.net I have documents that makes extensive use of field variables. I have noticed that rather often, when having closed LibreOffice Writer after having saved the document, when starting LibreOffice Writer again, it asks to recover the document. However, the recovery fails and LibreOffice Writer immediately closes. Starting it again, and the same thing happens. The only way to get out of the situation is to cancel the recovery. I have noted, and suspect, that this always happens when I have the Fields dialog open when closing LibreOffice Writer. I am not sure, but I also have noted that the problem is more likely to occur when I have two documents open that uses field variables. When going from one document to the other, I have also noted that the field definitions seems to come "out of sync", i.e. when inserting a field, another one gets inserted. Also, having had this problem with a document, and got working again, Libre Office Writer sometimes closes itself, i.e. silently crashes. So, in summary, I think there is some bug that is related to having the Fields dialog open when closing LibreOffice Writer, and maybe this "out of sync" behaviour is related. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
