--- Comment #5 from V Stuart Foote <[email protected]> ---
Please clarify the behavior and identify your OS and build (paste details from
the Help -> About dialog), e.g.
Version: 5.1.0.2 (x64)
Build ID: ecd3574d51754b043f865cf5bafee286d24db7cc
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL;
Locale: en-US (en_US)

File -> Exit has never been to *close* a document, rather it will *exit* from
LibreOffice.

Instead to close a document--leaving LibreOffice running (and other documents
open)--has been File -> Close for acting on and closing the current document.

For 5.1, the distinction between accelerators and short-cuts has widened. The
[alt] key has been isolated from accelerators. Meaning that for menu navigation
each component of the accelerator must be an individual button press, while
short-cuts remain their key combination.

So, to close a document (any component) File -> Close with mouse button clicks;
or [alt] -> F -> C with key board will close.

The StartCenter does have a related issue ( bug 92516 )where the menu File ->
Exit mouse click (or accelerator) will not exit from LibreOffice--on the
initial exit command and a second or even third button action is needed to
exit. But just in that component. The other components Close and issue Exit
correctly.
