Text box creates okay, adding text by typing but not paste option available.
Had issue with pasting text from clipboard. Solution was to use crtl-c to copy
then create text box and use ctrl_v to paste into text box. Even after textbox
is created, must use ctrl_v to paste. It does not matter if copy/paste to same
layer or to/from different layers. Font will default, so not a problem cleaning
up pasted text. Documentation shows to be able to paste but grayed out in right
click or edit menu(s).
