In options->Advanced->Expert configuration all 3 "locking" properties are set to true: UseLocking -> true UseDocumentSystemFileLocking -> true UseDocumentOOoLockFile -> true I would as well tend to see this bug as severe because it inhibits working in a collaborative environment (basically all organizations or companies) with LibreOffice (hence: Linux cannot be used).
