To cut a longish story short there are issues with Base (and maybe other modules) and Macros whereby if you do not manually save first, but close and wait until it asks if you want to save and then say 'save', it tends to crash quite frequently. Unfortunately I have been unable to create a reliable repeatable example of this, and it sometimes crashes even when I do manually save first (as in #96877). So please ensure that any indication that a save is required is really really clear.
