Hi Stephan,

I have switched to openjdk-6 [JRE 1.6.0_24 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)] & found
that LO is not that slow & it has not crashed yet.

However, although it runs much, much faster without Java I need to run JRE for
some extensions like OpenOffice.org2GoogleDocs that I use several time a day.
Also, there was no problem with JRE/extensions or LO with the previous version
of Ubuntu (11.10). I think this version of Ubuntu runs LO faster as long as the
Java is not activated.

I will follow your suggestion of completely disabling Java by going to Tools ->
Options -> Java & check if still does crash. I will report on the developments
then.

When I did a fresh install of Ubuntu (12.04), Java was not activated by default
in Ubuntu & LO worked very well & extremely fast. These problems started after
I had installed the LO extensions Language tool, OpenOffice.org2GoogleDocs,
LO-menubar & activated Java openjdk-7 (Oracle Corporation).
