             Bug #: 49959
           Summary: Autofilter is too restrictive
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: LibO 3.5.3 release
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Spreadsheet
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

On spreadsheet documents with complex formatting, one often encounters multiple
layers of empty lines and titles spread over merged cells before getting to
actual tabular data

Sometimes one even gets multiple tables in the same tab, each separated by
empty lines and merged titles

calc is not able to autofilter such a document, while excel works fine

When encountering an irregular document, the autofilter :
1. should ignore lines where the filtered column does not exist (empty lines or
cell merged with another column), and filter the other lines
2. either hide all those garbage lines when filtering (like excel) or display
them in addition to the filtered lines (ideally the user should be able to
switch them on, as titles give context to the filtered content)
