Bug #: 50039
Summary: UI: GNOME's "Large Text" accessibility setting makes
some Writer config dialogues inaccessible
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.5.3 release
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Status Whiteboard: BSA
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
PROBLEM
My OS (Fedora 17) has a handy, easy-to-find "Large Text" option in its
accessibility menu. I keep it on all the time even though I'm not
vision-impaired, because I use a laptop up on a stand with an external
keyboard, and the default font sizes are tiny at this distance.
Unfortunately, this means that certain dialogs -- like the Customize menu --
have buttons and other UI elements that are outside of the screen area. I have
to turn off Large Text and restart LibreOffice if I want to see what I'm doing.
HOW TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn on GNOME 3's "Large Text" accessibility setting on a laptop with a
15-inch screen. (This bug may or may not be reproducible in other
configurations. I suspect that netbooks with 10-inch, 1024x600 displays have it
worse, whatever OS they are using.)
2. Try to use the Customize menu.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
LibreOffice will remain usable and accessible, even on netbooks or for
vision-impaired users.
