I am able to repro on Win.

Yet, I am not skilled enough in debugging to get a trace.
Devs told me I would have to make the debugger catch the exception
std::bad_alloc, but Windbg Event filters don't have anything resembling it.
Maybe Visual Studio would help, but I've never used it to debug.
