Sounds like there are a number of different problems listed here, so I'm going
to just tackle the first part.

That statement seems accurate.

CONFIRMED

In this 5.2 daily build, both the left *and* right align buttons appear to be
selected (see "PPTX left and right aligned" attachment). That seems to be
buggy.
