I think there's definitely a bug here. Style and formatting changes do not save
to a .pot template. Furthermore, when I save the template as default by going
to file-new-templates-set as default, nothing happens. Changes that do save to
the template (text, images, etc) do not appear when I open a new presentation.
They only appear when I navigate to the template folder and open the template
file from there.
