I will say the expert configuration does return the basic functionality and I'm using it. However, the icon doesn't change colour or alert in anyway to indicate you should be saving the file, the way the old one did. Nor does it change colour to indicate the file is saved, the way the old one did. But I can live with that. On the other hand, how many users will know enough to find this configuration change and set it - I doubt many will.
