I would say it is related Yes if I have a calc sheet with no basic operators used (+ - * /), I can cause LO to crash by simply creating a formula/basic operation using one of these operators. LO crashes as soon as I press 'enter' to activate the formula/operation on my pc (see my original message for environment) and LO does not allow OpenCL. However on my notebook, LO (with or without allowing OpenCL) is not affected. My problem, arises from LOv5.1+ trying to open a calc sheet that already has these basic operators in situ in the cell - LO5.1 crashes with the described error box and cannot open the file. Later comments to bug 98116 are suggesting OpenCL problems.
