The new build: 1) has NO issue with gtk VCL plugin 2) additionally, definitely feels 'snappish' w/r to the response time; very pleasant improvement! NB I'm building with gtk3 disabled, so maybe all's not all that well with gtk plugin, but I'm completely satisfied with the resolution already. If gtk3 test is needed anyway on my side, specifically, do tell.
