Bug ID: 98872
Summary: General performance issues
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
LibreOffice has got to be one of the worst performing pieces of open source
software I have encountered. For being under development for so long a time,
one should expect and demand better performance from such a piece of software.
This is pathetic. Opening a large file on an overclocked Core i7-5930K should
have absolutely ZERO performance issues, and yet LibreOffice takes relatively
FOREVER to open a large file.
As stated before, LibreOffice has *always* suffered these disgusting
performance issues and until they are resolved, it will never be considered a
viable alternative to a Microsoft Office installed on a Windows OS running as a
virtual machine. Yes, such an installation still runs amazing faster than
LibreOffice running natively on Linux. Sad.
