LO Writer is missing functionality to insert an image in pdf format.
Images in the closely related Encapsulated postscript (EPS) format however can
be directly inserted.
PDF is the more recent and common format compared to the closely related EPS
and so should be directly supported for both direct insertion and linking, as
it is in Microsoft Word. This lack of equivalent functionality makes it more
difficult to collaborate with colleagues using Word.
