            Bug ID: 99037
Summary: Impress animations on text frames has incosistent
                    editing behaviour
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.0.5.2 release
          Hardware: x86 (IA32)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Impress
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Open an Impress document, create a text frame with 2 or more paragraphs in it
Then open the sidebar for the animation properties, and assign any effect to
it.
The effect is by default assigned to each paragraph separately, each requiring
a separate click to be shown. Now for the problems:
1) the animation settings Button in the sidebar, which is available for other
objects when you assign an effect to them, is not available (greyed out) while
it should be usable
2) you can still obtain the setting dialog window via the context menu in the
effects list above; however, if you switch the text animation grouping setting
to "as a whole", instead of obtaining the desired result, the effect vanishes
completely. It should instead maintain the effect, but apply it only once to
the whole text frame
3) while for other objects (e.g. shapes, bitmaps, etc.) with animation effects,
if you select them, the selection is mirrored on the effects list (i.e. the
effect associated to the selected object appears selected as well), this does
not happen for text frames (either single- or multi-paragraph). Even if you
have an effect on them, you select the object in the slide but its effect is
not shown as selected in the animation list. This is quite annoying, since it
is useful to be able to tell what effects each object has when clicking on
them; it is also inconsistent, since it is hard to guess why some object do and
others do not have such behaviour.
