However, considering the dangers of not realizing your spreadsheet cells aren't being recalculated, I would offer the suggestion that you consider making "recalculate on file load" the default setting. That seems like the most logical thing to me for the average user. I would think it's only power users who would have a need to NOT automatically recalculate cells - and they are the ones who would know enough to be acquainted with the setting and turn it off.
