I didn't before you mentioned it, but I have now, and it has had no effect. However, for some reason, I am able to make Indexes, Table of Contents, and Edit Styles after a reboot of the system. That said, there is still a lengthy bit of time where the program freezes and becomes non-responsive. It's just that now, it eventually breaks out of the freeze with the corresponding dialog box to my actions. The freeze lasts maybe two, three minutes on average now, and I know I waited longer than that before terminating the process previously.
