Fresh is more recent than Still but this last one is more stable and tested
(see https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ and
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-still
Could you try this:
- uninstall Vanilla version
- download LO package from
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/
- install it
- rename LO directory profile
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Mac_OS_X
- try again
