Do you have this setting enabled or disabled: Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering? The problem sounds very unfortunate as it causes a loss of ink. I hope it can be tested with the image scaled to very small size, so the loss is not much. There might be some fixes to the printing & opengl stuff that did not make it to 5.1.2.
