Thanks for your response. I am not a geek, just a regular user, so I downgraded
again for remaining able to use LibreOffice productively. Now, I reinstalled
the latest version on different machines. All of them show the same bug again.

- all machines run Windows 10 (x64), are kept up-to-date (all updates
installed)
- different graphic drivers are involved
(2x Intel HD onboard, 1x NVIDIA Geforce Gaming Ready Driver)
- enabling/disabling "Use OpenGL..." doesn't make a difference

"Printing" means:
- printing to actual Windows printers (1x Samsung M2825ND, 1x Dell C2665dnf)
AND
- printing to a ghostscript based pdf printer (PDF24)

Summary:
It is a new bug that did not occur with the prior versions (5.1.1). It can be
reproduced on different machines with different graphics hardware. It happens
both to gs based pdf printers and to actual Windows printers. The fonts (Linux
Libertine G, Linux Biolinum G, Gentium) look normal on the display of the
computers, but are not printed at all.

The only way to print regularly (at the moment) is:
- using the onboard pdf export of LibreOffice (works with these fonts)
- printing the pdf

Of course, this is not a really practical solution.

Here is the open_device.log for one of the machines:
DriverVersion: 10.18.13.6472
DriverDate: 3-21-2016
DeviceID: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11C0&SUBSYS_354E1458&REV_A1
AdapterVendorID: 0x10de
AdapterDeviceID: 0x11c0
AdapterSubsysID: 0x354e1458
DeviceKey:
System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{6C26FABA-4D8C-4D99-81BA-BF4B9C7D8361}\0000
DeviceString: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
