Bug ID: 99437
Summary: MAJOR CONCEPTUAL PROBLEM
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I have a specific issue that is a part of a MAJOR design flaw.
1) WHEN YOU ASSIGN HOT KEYS THAT FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE SOME ASPECT OF THE
FUNCTIONALITY, YOU NEED TO MAKE IT *ABUNDANTLY* CLEAR WHAT JUST HAPPENED, AND
HOW TO REVERSE IT.
The specific problem is that while writing, I suddenly entered some editing
mode where everything I type is showing up in a different color, underlined, I
am guessing it is appearing as edits from another writer/editor. I AM UNDER
DEADLINE, AND I CAN'T GET OUT OF LIBRE OFFICE HELL.
I right-click on the edit, and I can accept or reject the changes, but there is
no way to tell the system that I am the writer, not an editor and THERE IS
NOTHING THAT TELLS ME WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON. I have (frantically) searched
through the menu items, looked in your knowledge base of on-line files, but
this leads to a second, MAJOR problem:
2) BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT JUST HAPPENED, I DON'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST CLUE HOW
TO SEARCH FOR ANSWERS TO REVERSE IT. I have searched editing, multiple users,
shared documents, I simply don't know where to look.
Like I said, I'm under deadline. This really sucks.
I have searched under edit, collaboration, shared users, all of that. Bupkus.
