It seems like there are two different bugs here, one, where the cursor is in a table (the original report), and one where the cursor is not. I believe the second case is a regression, where the latest version that worked correctly was 4.4.7.2. (see comment 37) Shouldn't that be set up a separate bug , and marked as a regression (so that it can get a higher priority)?
