Bug ID: 99798
Summary: TABLE: "Allow row to break across pages and columns"
not always working if vertical text is present
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.0.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]

Example document
If vertically oriented text is present in the first cell of a 2 (cols) x 1
(rows) table, and a long text (arguably longer than the page) is pasted into
the adjacent cell (horizontally aligned), the table will not split in the next
page regardless the value of "Allow row to break across pages and columns", and
the remainder of the pasted text is hidden.
Setting back and forth "Allow row to break across pages and columns" will have
no effect.
Setting back and forth the alignment of the first cell, adding and removing a
paragraph break will do the job by splitting the table across pages.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a 1x1 table via the toolbar button
2. Write some text in the first cell and make it vertical (via the "text
alignment" parameter in the table properties)
3. Paste a long text in the second cell, whatever the text (20 paragraphs of
"lorem ipsum", numbers from 1 to 100..) but for sure longer than the page with
the actual top/bottom margins (i.e. 2cm) and font and size settings (i.e.
"Liberation mono 10").
If an autostyle NOT containing vertically aligned text is applied, the problem
will disappear; but the problem re-appears if after that the vertical alignment
is restored.
