            Bug ID: 99941
Summary: Writer crashes when inactive in the background
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.1.1.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

I'm sorry to be vague as I know how important good data is, but I'm not sure
what that would be. I'm new to LibreOffice and have only used a few days, but
I'm already almost ready to uninstall it and go back to Open Office!

Anyway, the problem is that OpenOffice (so far have only used Writer) crashes
on me 2-3 times every night. The first time I had two files open and when I
tried to recover both files were completely corrupted; anyway I have already
reported that as another bug which appears to be unreproduceable so won't go
into details.

So since then I have tried to save my files every 30 seconds or so, and after
Writer crashes I don't even TRY to recover my files.

However it still crashes a lot, and most of the recent crashes have been when I
have an open file just sitting in the background. I'm not actively using
Writer, but am off in a browser window or elsewhere with my open file just
sitting in the background.

Then suddenly a message pops up that LibreOffice has stopped working and
Windows is looking for a solution. I click the OK button and then my Writer
goes away and so does my file. Obviously I have no data and no clue what I
could provide other than a screen shot of the message. I don't see any sort of
debugging tools among my Writer option.
