After it opened in Impress, you can click the save button. But the original
report was about a way of moving drawing contents to a presentation, and this
can be achieved by import alone, thus WORKSFORME.

Maybe, but that's how it works in LO for other formats too. If you look at the
filter list, there are entries like "HTML Document (Writer)" and "HTML Document
(Calc)", to open the same format in different applications. Same for RTF and
PDF. However, I agree that the UX is far from ideal. If people think that
adding an "export" option will result in a better UX, no reason why we can't
consider that too.
